• By 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean.
• There is enough plastic in the ocean to go around Earth over 400 times.
• Plastic never fully biodegrades in the ocean.
• Americans use over 500 millions plastic straws everyday.
• It is estimated that around 71% of sea birds and 30% of sea turtles have ingested plastics.
• 17 million barrels of oil is used to produce plastic every year.
• 83% of tap water has been found to contain plastic particles.
• 50% of consumer plastic is single use.
• 91% of the plastic used is not recycled.

It’s never too late to start reducing your plastic use! And baby steps are allowed starting with this pledge! Pledges are inspiring and very powerful tools to make the world a better place by engaging people to achieve certain actions and keep their promise. And by sharing this pledge with your loves ones, you may be able to create a community of your own where you discuss on how you can fulfill the pledge and how you can engage more people in this fight against plastic pollution. Nothing can be accomplished alone, but so much together.
